I was looking at the 10 or 15 cm of wasted space on my tradionnal style gun and I thought I ought to use the remainder of the lenght of the gun by inverting the trigger mechanism.

My first attempt (below) was successful but I did not like the way it worked and the diagonal pull rod.

My second design is an inverted variation of the traditional release systems.

The drawback the is the necessity for two springs instead of only one.

Here is a small gun using a mechanism similar to the one above. Notice that the handle is not too far from the shaft but since the shaft goes all the way behind the handle, the tip of the gun will probably lift uppon firing. That is why I'm not much of a fan of mid handle guns but saving 20 cm of stock may be wort it. I will have to try the gun to see what happens.

This is an inverted mech without a pull rod. This simple design adds a good 10 cm in lenght to a standard rear handle gun.

You can see such a design on www.arbalegno.com

I'll add more pictures has the project moves forward.
